Storing electricity makes sense and is already paying off!

There are many ways to store electricity. In the form of pumped storage power plants, batteries in various forms, electric heating of water, hydrogen-based, etc.

We at ENLES cover the field of electrical storage with lead and lithium batteries.

We rely on the experience of renowned manufacturers such as Hoppecke, GNB/EXIDE or Lithium Hersteller, all from Germany. Due to the physical properties, the topic of electricity storage is not new. We all know it from a vehicle – there, electricity is constantly generated (alternator), stored in the battery and retrieved when the engine is started. This
process is constantly repeated, except that the application via solar must have different requirements than a car starter battery.

However, many manufacturers are convinced that the application solar + storage is quite worthwhile for the future and therefore also invest a lot in research and development.

Im Bereich der Solartechnik bietet es sich aktuell geradezu an, den Strom vom Dach zu speichern, um ihn dann später zu nutzen. Durch die gewollte Reduzierung der Einspeisevergütung (aktuell ca. 12,7 Cent / kWh) macht es keinen Sinn mehr, die PV-Anlage über die Einspeisevergütung zu finanzieren.

In the field of solar technology, it currently makes sense to store the electricity from the roof in order to use it later. Due to the intended reduction of the feed-in tariff (currently approx. 12.7 cents / kWh), it no longer makes sense to finance the PV system via the feed-in tariff. The focus is on the highest possible self-consumption of the solar electricity. The fact alone that, for example, the electricity from the roof currently costs about 10 cents and the electricity from the socket (from the energy supplier) costs about 28 cents, makes one think and make a decision. The 10 cents for the solar power remains almost static, because there are hardly any maintenance or repair costs, but the costs for each kWh from the energy supplier will continue to rise on average about 3.5% per year!

The focus is on the highest possible self-consumption of the solar electricity. The fact alone that, for example, the electricity from the roof currently costs about 10 cents and the electricity from the socket (from the energy supplier) costs about 28 cents, makes one think and make a decision. The 10 cents for the solar power remains almost static, because there are hardly any maintenance or repair costs, but the costs for each kWh from the energy supplier will continue to rise on average about 3.5% per year!

The logical consequence is to use the solar power from the roof as effectively as possible and to feed as little as possible back into the public grid. This is where the electricity storage system comes into play. For a standard single-family house, a consumption rate of approx. 25-30% can be achieved on average. This means that approx. 25-30% of the solar electricity is used in the house, in individual cases even more. The rest, however, of 70% goes back into the grid. This makes no sense ecologically and economically. With a suitably designed electricity storage system, the consumption quota can be increased to 60-70%, in individual cases even higher. Together with the state subsidy, which is possible again as of January 1 of this year, the purchase is already paying off.

Die logische Konsequenz ist es, den solaren Strom vom Dach möglichst effektiv zu nutzen und möglichst wenig ins öffentliche Netz zurück zu speisen. Hier kommt dann der Stromspeicher ins Spiel. Bei einem Standard-Einfamilienhaus lässt sich im Schnitt eine Verbrauchsquote von ca. 25-30 % erreichen. Das heißt, dass ca. 25-30% des solaren Stromes im Haus genutzt werden, im Einzelfall durchaus auch mehr.

Der Rest aber von 70% geht zurück ins Netz. Das macht ökologisch und ökonomisch gesehen keinen Sinn. Mit einem passend ausgelegten Stromspeicher lässt sich die Verbrauchsquote auf 60-70% erhöhen, im Einzelfall noch höher. Zusammen mit der staatlichen Förderung, die ab 01. Januar diesen Jahres wieder möglich ist, rechnet sich die Anschaffung bereits jetzt schon.

Electromobility

“Without renewable energies no real electromobility and no moving future happens”.

This guiding principle moves us to take the next logical step. As a long-standing supplier in the field of photovoltaics and thus solar power generation, we support our upcoming business field of E-mobility.

Electric vehicles of all kinds, such as scooters, passenger cars or e-bikes, not only drive with low emissions, they can also be perfectly integrated into an intelligent power grid, a so-called smart grid.

Here, they are not only consumers, but also mobile electricity storage in times of high electricity generation from renewable energies – for example, when the wind is high.

If, on the other hand, electricity consumption is high (peak loads), electric cars can feed the electricity back into the grid later. In this way, electromobility solutions unfold their full potential for climate protection in conjunction with renewable energies.

All of this is not pie in the sky, but is already being tested under real conditions. Leading manufacturers already offer the entire spectrum of products and solutions for the electromobile future – starting with an intelligent power grid and the infrastructure for refueling, through components for the electric car, to a comprehensive and coordinated software portfolio.

But e-mobility is also becoming increasingly important as an economic and location factor. New drive concepts, a charging infrastructure or efficient battery technologies must be developed and made ready for series production. These are tasks in which corporate groups and energy suppliers have been actively involved in various projects for several years. We see this – in addition to the provision of electricity from renewable energies – as actively shaping the future and climate-friendly mobility.

LED lighting technology

The LED – lighting technology does not exist only since yesterday…

already many years ago light was produced with semiconductor technology. Today, LED technology is on the great advance. The technology is mature, but is constantly being improved, refined and adapted to practical applications.

Through simple calculation examples, payback periods of 2-3 years can be achieved in the commercial sector! This quickly convinces to decide for a lighting refurbishment.
